September 2026 Retreat

Join us for our inaugural Hobby Holiday retreat this September at the iconic The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs.

From September 27–29, we’ll gather in this timeless setting for a few days of connection, creativity, and relaxation. Spend your days playing mahjong, stitching needlepoint, diving into a good book, and enjoying meaningful conversation—all at your own pace.

Whether you come with friends or arrive solo, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, inviting community where you can truly unwind and recharge.

This is more than a getaway—it’s the beginning of something special.

Starting Sunday afternoon, once you’ve checked in and settled, please join us in the beautiful Taft Room for open mahjong. It’s the perfect way to ease into the retreat—pull up a chair, play a few rounds, and start connecting.

Later that evening, we’ll gather again for a special social where everyone can mix, mingle, and get to know one another. Enjoy a drink, light hors d’oeuvres, and relaxed conversation as we kick off the retreat together. 

After the reception, head to dinner with friends—or your group we’ve thoughtfully paired you with—at one of the seven restaurants on site.

The room will remain open for games, needlepoint, and easy conversation—stay as long as you’d like. Or, if you’re in the mood to explore, you may choose to visit the on-site casino or catch a cabaret show at Café Carleton.

Monday morning, you’ll wake up in your beautifully appointed room at The Greenbrier and ease into the day at your own pace.

Head to the Taft Room for a light breakfast with coffee and tea, and a relaxed start to the morning. If you’ve signed up for needlepoint or mahjong lessons, you’ll plan your day around your scheduled class times. We will also host a book club discussion of In the Shadow of the Greenbrier by Emily Matchar.

Throughout the day, mahjong, canasta, Rummikub, puzzles, and cards will be available whenever the mood strikes. You’ll also have full access to everything the resort has to offer—whether that means unwinding at the spa, horseback riding, or taking a fascinating bunker tour.

We’ll come back together for a group lunch, a perfect moment to reconnect and share the day. Monday evening dinner is on your own, but we’re happy to help coordinate reservations—especially if you’re traveling solo or hoping to meet new friends.

After dinner, it’s time to slip into your most stylish pajamas and return to the Taft Room for a cozy, fun-filled night. We’ll host bingo with at least four rounds and fun prizes, along with late-night games, snacks, and plenty of laughter to end the day.

Tuesday, it’s time to say goodbye—but not before a little more time together. Join us once again in the Taft Room for a relaxed morning of games, needlepoint, and connection.

We’ll gather for one final, lovely lunch before heading our separate ways. While it’s always hard to leave, you’ll head home feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and grateful for the new friendships and memories made at The Greenbrier.

We have secured a room rate of $280(plus taxes and fees) for a double occupancy room. Once you purchase your retreat ticket you'll receive information to book your room.

The early bird rate of $1,000 will end at 1200 on May 1, 2026.
